Hello everyone. I'm Dr. Jim Wilson and I'd like to welcome you to a new era in veterinary education. This one involves a strategic alliance between my alma mater, Iowa State University's College of Veterinary Medicine and me. Together we are providing veterinary students, associate veterinarians, vendors, veterinary practice medical directors, managers, and owners with a state of the art online veterinary law and ethics course. What I learned as a practicing veterinarian was how often moral-ethical-legal issues confront almost everyone in the profession and how difficult it is to find accurate, authoritative options and answers. This course provides an in-depth look at this subject via audio, video, PowerPoint slides, discussion groups, and recorded classroom question/answer sessions. Equally important is our desire to provide 250 pages of targeted handouts for future reference to those who complete the course.
