Veterinary Education and Technology Services
We promote and support quality veterinary education, research and outreach through the design, production and presentation of effective learning materials and programs. We also provide training and assistance to faculty, staff and students in the effective use of instructional technology.
Mission
Our mission is to enrich and advance the college's educational mission by providing the technology infrastructure and information systems that support education, administering a comprehensive outcomes assessment program, and supporting faculty instructional development through continuing education.
Classroom Services
VETS along with computer services provides support for each of the three major classrooms (1226, 2226, and 2532), routine maintenance and upgrades, and special equipment setups.
Each classroom is fully equipped for multimedia presentations with the following:
- Dual ceiling-mounted LCD video/data projectors with the ability to simultaneously project the same or different sources.
- Permanently installed classroom computers running Windows XP. The computers also have a DVD/CD-ROM player, network connection to the college server and Internet, and wireless remote control unit for PowerPoint presentations.
- Wireless microphone PA system with lapel and hand-held microphones.
- Laser pointers (several colors available on request).
- Double width (20x8 ft.) motorized screen.
- VHS and DVD playback built-in.
- Document camera for projection of paper documents and objects.
- Polycom capability for live video conferencing.
Equipment Checkout
Equipment is available for check-out by veterinary faculty, staff, graduate students and recognized veterinary student groups.
