Rabies Vaccinations
CLASS OF 2013 RABIES VACCINATION CLINIC
As you know, it is a requirement that all students be vaccinated against rabies prior to matriculation. Some of you may already have this as you may have been employed at a veterinary clinic prior to applying to veterinary school. The Theilen Student Health Center (TSHC) will sponsor two sets of vaccination clinics for Class of 2013 admits. Please be advised that you must complete the series in the clinic that you sign up for (i.e., you cannot start your series in the Early Clinic and complete it in the Late Clinic). This requires your commitment to all three dates in the clinic you choose.
Early Clinic (Advised for Iowa resident admits*)
First of 3 vaccinations July 8, 2009 8:00am-11:00am
Second of 3 vaccinations July 15, 2009 8:00am-11:00am
Third of 3 vaccinations July 29, 2009 8:00am-11:00am

*This clinic is available to any admit who can commit to all three dates. It is hoped that the majority of the admits who are Iowa residents could participate in this clinic to reduce the numbers at the later clinic.
Late Clinic
Dates to be determined; likely will be during the first month of classes
COST
You will need to have all three vaccinations. Vaccination cost at this time is estimated to be $300/vaccination (total=$900). You should check with your insurance carrier to see if the cost of this required vaccination is covered.
For those who have been vaccinated or who plan to be vaccinated this summer by their physicians, please remember that your verification needs to be sent (mailed or faxed) to the following address by August 1, 2009.
