CHANGES TO ADMISSIONS PROCESS
(Entering Fall 2014)
Beginning with VMCAS 2014 (opening June 2013) all transcripts must be sent directly to VMCAS for transcript verification. This includes Iowa State University students who must now send their official transcripts to VMCAS.
Since transcript verification can take up to 4 weeks, all Iowa resident applicants are strongly encouraged to have their VMCAS application, transcripts and at least 1 letter of evaluation to VMCAS by August 1, 2013 so that they are available to the College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University by the September 3, 2013 final deadline for Iowa resident applicants.
Non-resident and contract applicants are strongly encouraged to have their VMCAS application, transcripts and at least 1 letter of evaluation to VMCAS by September 1, 2013 so that they are verified and available the schools by the October 2nd final deadline.
The earlier your transcripts are received, the earlier we can let you know your status. Once you have started your VMCAS application and your transcripts arrive and are verified, we can begin to review your application and let you know if there are any problems.
