So, what is life like at the College of Veterinary Medicine? A veterinary medical education is an intense four years of study, following two to four years of undergraduate work. They are challenging, exhilarating, and always interesting. Typically your studies will consist of:
Year 1 Structure and function of the normal animal, including cases studies.
Year 2 Diseases and how animals respond to them, treatment fundamentals, pharmacology, and communications skills.
Year 3 Specific diseases in companion and food animals, surgery, and developing clinical and diagnostic skills.
Year 4 Clinical skills and medical decision-making applied in the medical center.
