Friends of Veterinary Medicine

The Friends of Veterinary Medicine is an organization made up of parents, relatives, and friends of students enrolled in the ISU College of Veterinary Medicine. It was established to provide services for the students at the college and to provide parents and friends with opportunities to be involved in their student's education.

Primarily, the group focuses on fund raising activities and service projects that center around ways to aid veterinary students in various capacities. The efforts of the Friends of Vet Med group have been tangible, as evidenced by the purchases of high-use items. These include a washer and dryer for the Junior surgery students; a microwave for student use in the vending /cafe area, and pagers for use by emergency students in the clinics. "Friends" has donated funds to the recent SAVMA Symposium and various other student events and projects.

It should be emphasized that Friends of Vet Med is not just for parents, but for anyone who would like to become involved with the veterinary school. It is a great way to stay involved with a student's veterinary education.
