10/24/2008 Home Page Veterinary Medicine Honors Distinguished Alumni

Three veterinarians recently were recognized with Iowa State University’s premier honor awarded to outstanding veterinary alumni. The Stange Award for Meritorious Service in Veterinary Medicine recognizes distinguished alumni for outstanding professional achievements. The award is the highest honor given to alumni of Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine. It was presented during special ceremonies held by the university and the college on Oct. 24.

The Wildlife Care Clinic is hosting a Pizza Ranch Fundraiser, where 10% of the profits will go to the WCC. Come and meet the staff, volunteers, buy some WCC merchandise, eat great food, and help out your local wildlife! So, tell your friends, family members, and anyone who just likes to eat Pizza Ranch in general, to go there on May 11th between 5pm and 9pm! We are wanting any types of cell phones, cameras, or ink cartridges. They DO NOT have to be in working order.

There is a box in the WCC for electronics, or you can leave them in our mailbox in the Small Animal Hospital.

Home Page Ophthalmologist expands specialty services at ISU Veterinary Medical Center

Ames, Iowa – Dr. Robert David Whitley, DVM, MS, a board-certified veterinary ophthalmologist, has joined the faculty at the Dr. W. Eugene and Linda Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (VMC) at Iowa State University. He is the second board-certified ophthalmologist on staff and was hired to meet an increased demand in specialty eye care for pets.
