Summer 2012 Tour Schedule

(Tours begin mid-June 2012. Last tour date is 07/30/2012)

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Iowa State University has experienced significant structural growth in the last five years. We continue to renovate our hospital to provide quality healthcare to the public and our college to ensure an exceptional education to our students. Tours of the college are provided by the Veterinary Ambassadors, students who are enrolled in the professional curriculum. All visitors must complete an online tour request at least 5 working days prior to the requested tour date. Maximum tour size is 10 visitors (no exceptions will be made). We are unable to accommodate “walk-in” visitors.

NOTE: The tour request website will be changing as we unveil a new request program this summer.

Monday: 10am-2pm(Last tour begins at 2pm)

Friday: 10am-2pm(Last tour begins at 2pm)

TOUR INFORMATION:

High school (15 years old) and college/post baccalaureate prospective students. Tours include the various classrooms and associated technology, the Packer Heritage Room and college art-work, and the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center (small and large animal hospitals).

Children’s groups (Individuals under the age of 15) are provided tours at the annual College of Veterinary Medicine Open House associated with VEISHEA.

College of Veterinary Medicine VEISHEA Open House (April 20, 2013) is a college-wide showcase of the veterinary program. This Open House is geared toward families and prospective student with something for EVERYONE. Displays, hands-on activities, demonstrations, exhibits, seminars and a petting zoo are among the activities offered to visitors. The event is free and open to the public.
