Areas of emphasis for DVM and graduate student learning have included recognition of infectious, zoonotic, and emerging diseases. Dr. Myers has led study abroad learning opportunities for veterinary students, including Kenya 2001 for Veterinary Medicine: Wildlife and Livestock in East Africa (interactions), and Brazil 2002 for Veterinary Medicine and Wildlife Production in Brazil. He has long-standing collaborations in nutritional investigations of carcinogenesis, especially related to liver disease. He was one of the first faculty to obtain an instructional development grant for computer-based clinical cases that integrates teaching materials from numerous veterinary colleges in the United States.
