Mary Sarah Bergh DVM, MS, Diplomate ACVS, Diplomate ACVSMR

Assistant Professor

Dr. Bergh is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery and the Director of the Canine Rehabilitation Center at Iowa State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She has earned board certifications from the American College of Veterinary Surgeons (ACVS) and the American College of Veterinary Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation (ACVSMR).  She attended veterinary school at the University of Wisconsin, completed an internship University of Pennsylvania and a residency in small animal surgery at The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. She also earned her Masters of Science degree at The Ohio State University in 2008, while investigating fractured central tarsal bones of racing greyhounds. Her clinical and research interests include hip, knee and elbow joint replacement, arthroscopy, treatments for cranial cruciate ligament disease including TPLO/TTA, rehabilitation and racing/athletic injuries.



Joanna Hildreth CVT, CCRP

A Registered Veterinary Technician since 1992, Ms. Joanna Hildreth has worked in both a mixed and small animal practice as well as a referral specialty practice for several years before coming to ISU in 1998. In 2005, she became a Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner through the University of Tennessee’s certificate training program.  Joanna has been working in the Canine Rehabilitation area since 1999.
