Dr. Jergens

Dr. Al Jergens

Special Interests: Dr. Jergens specializes in small animal internal medicine. His primary research areas of interests include gastrointestinal endoscopy, mucosal immunology, and inflammatory bowel diseases in dogs and cats.

Dr. LeVine joined ISU’s Small Animal Internal Medicine service as an assistant professor with a special interest in hematology.  She received her DVM from Cornell University in 2004, completed a rotating small animal internship at the University of Georgia, followed by a combined internal medicine residency and PhD at North Carolina State University through their Clinician Investigator program. Her research focuses on immune-mediated thrombocytopenia in dogs.  She plans to continue to combine clinical small animal medicine and research in veterinary hematology as a clinician-scientist at ISU.  She looks forward to being a part of the Iowa veterinary community!
