College Restructures Administrative Team

Responding to the current reductions in state budgets, the College of Veterinary Medicine is consolidating its three associate dean positions into two.  Dean John U. Thomson announced Monday that Dr. Lisa Nolan and Dr. Eldon Uhlenhopp have accepted new roles in the College, effective March 16, 2009.

Dr. Nolan will become Associate Dean for Research and Graduate Studies, replacing Dr. James Bloedel who has served as interim associate dean since August 2008.  She has been serving as Associate Dean for Student and Academic Affairs and brings a strong and accomplished research focus to her new position.

Dr. Eldon Uhlenhopp will serve as Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Outreach and Operations. He has been a faculty member since 1984.  An accomplished administrator, he has served as Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Assistant Dean for External Programs, and most recently as Associate Dean for Outreach and Operations.

“We are fortunate to have these experienced administrators accept their new leadership roles at this critical time for the college,” said Dr. Thomson.
