Past Experience
After graduating with his DVM, Dr. Gonzalez worked in private practice and volunteered for non-profit organizations including RVETS, an international animal welfare training institute at the University of California-Davis. He also volunteered at UC-Davis’ VERT (veterinary emergency response team) during natural disasters. He completed internships in food animal internal medicine and a second in large animal internal medicine at Kansas State University before completing a large animal internal medicine residency at Auburn University.

Interesting Facts
Dr. Gonzalez is originally from a very small town (Huanimaro) in Mexico where he grew up working with cattle, horses and pigs. His father is a producer and large animal veterinarian.

While with UC-Davis’ veterinary emergency response team, Dr. Gonzalez volunteered during the 2021 Northern California wildfires.
