DVM, Graduate Students Named CVM Poster Winners

The College of Veterinary Medicine held its annual Research Day event on Thursday, Sept. 11. The day’s events including a poster session with several individuals recognized.

The Summer Scholar Research Program introduces first- and second-year veterinary medicine students to research across the breadth of the profession. The resulting research was presented in the poster session by 21 students. Award recipients were:

  • 1st place: Gwendolyn Wojewodka, “Outcomes of a Patient Safety Committee and Veterinary Incident Reporting System”
  • 2nd place: Courtney Marlin, “The Application of Thoracic Ultrasound in Lambs Infected with Bovine Respiratory Syncytial Virus”
  • 3rd place: Korinne Hansen, “Effects of in utero Heat Stress and Genomic Selection for Heat Tolerance on Boar Semen Quality”
  • 4th place (tie): Emma Moore,” Evaluating Kinase Inhibitor Efficacy Against Rift Valley Fever Virus Pathogenesis”
  • 4th place (tie): Livia Richards, “Blood Sampling Site in Asian Common Toads and the Implications for Field Research”
