The College of Veterinary Medicine has presented awards and scholarships to the DVM graduating class of 2025.
The awards were presented Thursday, May 15, at a ceremony co-sponsored by the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association.
Recipients included:
- FelineVMA Outstanding Senior Award – Jayden Stieren
- American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology Award – Kaitlyn Scheunemann
- American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (ACVIM) Certificate of Clinical Excellence – Kristen Larson (large animal); & Allison Prather (small animal), Jacob Reichert (small animal)
- American College of Veterinary Pathologists Outstanding Achievement, Proficiency and Interest in Veterinary Pathology Award – Julia Harris & Payton VanDusseldorp
- American College of Veterinary Radiology Senior Award – Hannah Yoder
- AAVD Dermatology Senior Veterinary Student Award – Elijah Fine
- Award for Clinical Proficiency in Surgery – Sienna Spaethe (large animal) & William Tammaro (small animal)
- G.G. Graham Prize – Savannah Crews (large animal) & Kaitlyn Scheunemann (small animal)
- Margaret A. Haines Scholarship in Equine Medicine and Surgery – William Coppage
- Interstate Veterinary Medical Association Scholarship –Callie Henrich & Adri Scholten Tilstra
- IVMA Bovine Preconditioning Program Scholarship – Mara Resop, Tessa Kohl, Elizabeth Moore, Keith Wolverton, Chelesa Harris & Cassandra Burkle
- Bob Rosenthall Senior Student Award for Proficiency in Clinical Oncology – Alyssa Dooley
- Society for Theriogenology Proficiency in Theriogenology Award – Julia Slocum-Coffey
- Veterinary Medicine Alumni Association “Gentle Doctor” Award – Elle Moon
- American Animal Hospital Association Award for Proficiency in Primary Care – Luke Schira
