The Emergency and Critical Care Services (ECC) is really two services in one. On the emergency side, the service sees all manner of emergencies while the critical care service manages patients in the hospital.

Services Provided
Owners can bring their pet in anytime (please call if possible) for urgent/emergency problems. The service also accepts referrals from throughout Iowa and surrounding states with cases that need more advanced care.
The critical care service manages patients in the hospital in conjunction with other services. These may be cases that need ongoing hospitalization but little further workup and long-term management. Critically ill patients that need things like advanced oxygen and/or ventilation support and medications.
Appointments
Patients do not need an appointment to see Emergency Services. Owners are asked to call ahead if possible and patients will be seen the same day to address urgent or emergent problems as long as the service has adequate staffing and cage space.
