Eugene and Linda R. Lloyd Endowed Professorship in Veterinary Medicine.<\/p>\n<p>Thippeswamy joined the College of Veterinary Medicine faculty in 2012 after serving on the faculty at the University Liverpool in England.<\/p>\n<p>His research focuses on the field of epilepsy, and he recently received a NIH U01 award, which is one of the most prestigious translational research funding grants in the United States. He has served as the principal investigator on five National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants on neurotoxicity totaling $5.4 million since 2017. Recently, he was inducted as a Fellow of the American Epilepsy Society (FAES). The FAES designation is an honor that demonstrates professional accomplishments and dedication in the field of epilepsy through research. He was also named a Dean Faculty Fellow from 2019-2022 in the College of Veterinary Medicine.<\/p>\n<p>\tIn the classroom, Thippeswamy is an award-winning, student-centered professor of veterinary anatomy. He was selected for the Zoetis Distinguished Veterinary Teaching Award by students in the College of Veterinary Medicine in 2017 and that same year he was a nominee for the AAVMC Distinguished Veterinary Teacher Award. A year later he received the CVM Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching and in 2019 he received a Miller Teaching Fellowship from Iowa State University.<\/p>\n<p>Thippeswamy earned his PhD in neuroscience from the University of Liverpool in England and received both a masters and bachelor\u2019s veterinary degree from the University of Agriculture Sciences in India.<\/p>\n<p>The Lloyd Endowed Professorship in Veterinary Medicine was established by Eugene Lloyd (\u201949 DVM, \u201970 PhD) and his wife Linda.<\/p>\n<p><img alt=\"\" src='https:\/\/vetmed.iastate.edu\/article-v2\/wp-content\/uploads\/swamy1-3.jpg\n' style=\"width: 800px; height: 419px;\"><br \/>\n\t&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<!-- <div>From <a href='https:\/\/vetmed.iastate.edu\/article\/thippeswamy-named-holder-lloyd-professorship'>https:\/\/vetmed.iastate.edu\/article\/thippeswamy-named-holder-lloyd-professorship<\/a><\/div> -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":0,"featured_media":6859,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-6860","page","type-page","status-publish","has-post-thumbnail","hentry"],"acf":{"site_sections":["BMS","VETMED"]},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v27.5 -
