The service provides pediatric preventive medicine, general wellness care and geriatric care.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Staff<\/strong><br \/>\nClinicians: Drs. Gretta Albrecht, Ashley McCann, Brenda Mulherin, Jennifer Scaccianoce and Bill Williams<\/p>\n<p>Technicians: Cameron Hart, Tara Luher<\/p>\n<p><strong>Services Provided<\/strong><br \/>\nPrimary Care offers physical examinations, vaccinations, acute illness care, internal and external parasite prevention programs, reproductive surgical altering (spay, neuter), and other minor surgeries. The service has up-to-date diagnostic capabilities and access to other veterinary experts within the small animal hospital.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Types of Cases<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Adult canine and feline wellness cases (physical examination, vaccinations, external and internal parasite control programs, baseline lab work (including but not limited to blood and urine testing)<\/li>\n<li>Geriatric\/Senior canine and feline wellness care physical examination, vaccinations, external and internal parasite control programs, baseline lab work (including but not limited to blood and urine testing), senior lab work screening<\/li>\n<li>Management of chronic conditions (including diabetes mellitus, hyperadrenocorticism (Cushings Disease), Hypoadrenocorticism (Addisons Disease), chronic kidney disease\/renal insufficiency, hyperthyroidism (overactive thyroid gland), hypothyroidism (underactive thyroid gland), obesity, osteoarthritis, atopy\/ allergies<\/li>\n<li>Management of acute conditions including vomiting, diarrhea, ear infections, wounds, broken toenails, \u201chot spots\u201d (acute moist dermatitis), limping, minor ophthalmic conditions<\/li>\n<li>Nutrition counseling (obesity and calorie requirements, diet recommendations for chronic or acute conditions)<\/li>\n<li>Oral examination, assessments and treatments including dental cleaning, radiographs, and extractions.<\/li>\n<li>End of life counseling and care<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Appointments<br \/>\n<\/strong>Primary Care generally sees patients within the week and frequently can set appointments on the same day of inquiry. Spay, neuter and other elective procedures are scheduled within one month.<\/p>\n<p>Appointments for dental procedures can have up to a six-month waiting period and clients interested in a procedure are placed on a waiting list.
