She anticipates pursuing projects that will contribute to improved clinical outcomes, including the development of new diagnostic assays and novel or repurposed treatments for drug resistant parasites.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Specialty Areas<br \/>\n<\/strong>Veterinary parasitology<\/p>\n<p><strong>Dr. Martin says\u2026<br \/>\n<\/strong>\u201cWhile challenging, I loved the material covered during the second year DVM curriculum at Iowa State. I found parasitology particularly interesting but didn\u2019t imagine that there would be an opportunity to pursue specialty training in this area. I was lucky that Dr. (Matt) Brewer was looking for a graduate student at the beginning of my fourth year.
