Her excitement for pathology is readily recognizable to the students which translates into higher levels of comprehension.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI enjoy teaching because it feels like I can make a difference on a much larger scale,\u201d Uhl said. \u201cI\u2019ll never personally treat as many animals as the students I teach over the course of their careers. The 130 veterinary students I instruct will go on to care for thousands of animals and work with countless clients throughout the careers.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Uhl graduated from Iowa State with a DVM in 2018. After graduation she completed a small animal rotating internship and one year of a comparative ophthalmology residency at Colorado State.<\/p>\n<p>She returned to Iowa State for an anatomic pathology residency and joined the College of Veterinary Medicine faculty after completing that residency. In this role, she serves as residency training coordinator for six anatomic pathology residents.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI was fortunate to have mentors who helped me accomplish things I never thought were possible,\u201d Uhl said. \u201cTeaching is a chance for me to pay that forward.<\/p>\n\n\t<\/div>\n<\/div>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"","protected":false},"author":3,"featured_media":0,"parent":0,"menu_order":0,"comment_status":"closed","ping_status":"closed","template":"","meta":{"_acf_changed":false,"footnotes":""},"class_list":["post-8517","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry"],"acf":{"site_sections":["VETMED","VPATH"]},"yoast_head":"<!-- This site is optimized with the Yoast SEO plugin v28.1 -
