For Veterinary Medicine Applicants Only

These instructions are for current veterinary medicine applicants. Visit the Office of the Registrar for information regarding transcripts for undergraduate admissions.

Official transcripts for ALL college-level coursework (undergraduate, graduate and continuing education) must initially be sent directly to VMCAS. This includes courses you took during high school, courses that show up as transfer credits on another transcript and if you only took 1 course at the school. If an institution’s name shows on another transcript, a transcript directly from that institution is required. Iowa State University students and alumni must also send their transcripts to VMCAS.

IMPORTANT – If you are reapplying, please make sure you send UPDATED transcripts to VMCAS if you have taken any coursework between your last application and the current application. We cannot consider your application without updated transcripts.

If you are taking Summer 2026 courses and want these grades included in the initial academic evaluation, the transcripts must be sent to VMCAS by September 15, 2026. If credits have been taken at a foreign (non-U.S. or non-English-speaking Canadian) institution, the applicant must follow the VMCAS instructions for foreign transcripts for WES evaluations. Since this may take some time, applicants are urged to start this process shortly after the VMCAS application opens.

Visit the VMCAS website for more information on sending transcripts directly.
