Dr. Johanna Fithian Pothast (’11)
An historical 1913 building in downtown Woodbine, Iowa, is getting new life as a veterinary clinic. Johanna Pothast, who has practiced in the area for 14 years, is behind the historic re-do. “Woodbine hasn’t had a veterinary clinic in our town for a very long time, but people in the community were really interest in showhow having one,” Pothast said. “When I would be out and about, at a local restaurant or the grocery store, people would ask me if I wanted to set up a clinic in town.” Trackside Veterinary Clinic will open April 1, 2026, with the clinic on the first floor and an upstairs apartment that among other uses, will house veterinary students on preceptorships.
