Living Her Dream

Dr. Sam Ford (’17)
Growing up, Sam Ford wanted to help all the creepy crawly critters, like snakes, that not every person likes to handle. And after graduating from the College of Veterinary Medicine, Ford is realizing her dream, traveling all over the United States helping exotic animals in their time of need. “Right now, I’m doing zoo medicine from California and New Jersey, so I travel out every other month to New Jersey and work as a zoo aquarium vet at two different places there,” Ford said. “I also work at an aquarium in Des Moines and I’m a vet for the Nature Center in Dickinson County (Iowa). So I just do kind of everything. It just, it’s hard for me to sit still instead of going and playing with crazy animals.”
