Early life stress can permanently damage your gut, but how?
Studying piglets and mice may shed light

Adam Moeser, DVM, MS, PhD

Dr. Moeser is an associate professor and The Matilda Wilson Endowed Chair at Michigan State University College of Veterinary Medicine. Moeser’s research is focused on understanding the pathophysiology of stress-associated gastrointestinal disorders affecting people and animals. He and his research team are currently investigating how early life stressful events such as maternal separation, neglect and disease alter the developmental programming of the immune system predisposing animals and people to increased risk for GI and immunological disease across the lifespan.
