New appointments are scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays between 9 a.m. and noon. Recheck appointments are scheduled on Mondays and Wednesdays between 9 a.m. and 2 p.m. Scheduled surgeries are performed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Appointments can be scheduled by contacting the reception desk at 515-294-4900 between 8 a.m. and 5 p.m. on weekdays. In addition to seeing appointments, the Soft Tissue Surgery Service receives patients from other services in the hospital is available for emergency surgery daily.
The Soft Tissue Surgery Service sees patients for all diseases requiring surgery other than orthopedic and neurologic problems. Elective spays and neuters are also performed by this service for clients living within 25 miles of Ames that are regular clients of the LVMC Primary Care Clinic.
There are many reasons for your pet requiring surgery. Typically, we recommend that you or your regular veterinarian consult with a surgeon to address any questions you may have regarding your pets problem and to provide you with a rough cost estimate, although this is not necessary for your pet to be seen.
