Dr. Williams is a long-time, private general small animal practitioner in Central Iowa and was a practice owner for more than a decade. He was a part-time faculty member in the College of Veterinary Medicine before joining the Iowa State full-time in August 2026.
Interesting Facts
Dr. Williams has long been active in the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association (IVMA) and the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA). He served as IVMA president in 2011-12 and was a delegate to the AVMA House of Delegates from Iowa from 2018 to 2026.

“Helping pets live longer healthier lives while educating clients and witnessing the incredible bond between them has been something I find very rewarding. When the opportunity presented itself to continue doing the same type of work with the addition of educating and mentoring students, I decided it was a good time to make the change and pay forward the training and mentorship I have received over my career.”
