Student Counseling Services Modified Services & Resources

Dear CVM Students, Staff and Faculty,

I hope you are having a smooth transition to online classes and if it’s not so smooth, that you are able to respond flexibly to the challenges you’re facing. I want you to know we are all in this together!

Student Counseling Services is here to support the CVM community during this difficult time. If you need support, please call our center at 515-294-5056 or email me at and we will assist you. All mental health services are provided for students by phone and available Monday through Friday 8-5. Call us to get started.

With limited exceptions, Student Counseling Services is not offering face to face services during this time of remote instruction. SCS has modified our scope of services during this period to provide accessible care by phone including crisis services and consultation and support planning contacts. SCS will offer clinical consultations for faculty and staff members in support of their work with ISU students.

See this FACE COVID resource for ways to respond effectively to the challenges we are facing.

Student Counseling Services offers videos online (more uploaded each day!) with many tips for self-care, mental health concerns, and transitioning issues, so feel free to subscribe to SCS on YouTube or find us on Facebook or Twitter  and Instagram! Our partners ISU WellnessRec Services, and Thielen Student Health are also putting out great programs and info!

This VIDEO guides users through mindfulness in reference to our current COVID-19 crisis and provides concrete skills. In addition, there are various mindfulness videos available for free online.
