Transfer Application Process

  • Complete the TRANSFER APPLICATION
  • Have official transcripts from all undergraduate, graduate and professional institutions attended sent to:

  • Official GRE scores are required. Use GRE code 6315 to have your scores sent to ISU-CVM.
  • Non-native English speakers must present a Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) score of 600 (PBT) or 250 (CBT) at the time of application. Additional requirements such as demonstration of proficiency in the English language and communication skills may be required.
  • The Dean or Associate Dean of the student’s current veterinary medical college must write a letter indicating that the applicant has been in good academic and professional standing throughout their entire enrollment at the college. If the student is from an AVMA-listed (non-AVMA accredited) college of veterinary medicine, this letter must also include the student’s ranking in their current class.
  • Three (3) letters of recommendation must be received.
  •  A NON-REFUNDABLE $80.00 ($100 for international applicants) application processing fee is required for US citizens and immigrants.  Make checks payable to Iowa State University and send to the CVM Admissions address above.

Deadlines (postmark deadline) for all materials

  • Spring semester 2017: All application materials must be postmarked by November 15, 2016.
  • Fall semester 2017: All application materials must be postmarked by May 15, 2017.
