The Veterinary Technician Internship is a rotating program through both the Small and Large Animal Teaching Hospitals. It is designed to provide veterinary technicians with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and gain hands-on experience in a dynamic, educational environment.

Eligible Candidates
This internship is open to:
  • Enrolled in or a graduate of AVMA-accredited Veterinary Technology programs
  • Veterinary Technician students requiring an internship as part of their curriculum
  • Experienced veterinary technicians seeking additional training

Application Process
To apply, candidates must submit:
  • A completed application
  • A letter of interest
  • A minimum of two letters of recommendation

Applications are accepted year-round.

Available Positions
There are currently four internship positions available throughout the year.

Additional Information
  • A stipend is provided for the internship.
  • Interns are responsible for arranging their own housing and living accommodations.

Acceptance Process
Once your application is reviewed by the internship committee:
  1. You will be contacted to schedule an in-person interview and facility tour.
  2. Upon acceptance, the internship supervisor will reach out to confirm your start and end dates.

Schedule
Interns will participate in:
  • Core rotations
  • Elective rotations based on interest

Each rotation lasts one week, allowing for a broad and immersive experience.
