From the Editor

It’s been 10 months since I joined the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center as its director of hospital operations. I’ve been truly amazed at the talent I work with on a daily basis.

As a teaching hospital, we balance the need to train veterinary students with our mission to provide the very best care for the patients that you refer to us.

This summer has been a busy time. In July we welcomed new interns and residents to the hospital. It’s gratifying to see how enthusiastic these bright young veterinarians are about the opportunities awaiting them each day.

We also made a number of new hires in the Hixson-Lied Small Animal Hospital (see page 3). This is an important step in improving the medical care we offer.

Over the next few months, we plan to make other improvements, some of which have been suggested by you, our referring veterinarian. We need your help, though, to continue this process of continual improvement. Please let us know your feedback, both good and bad, about how the hospital is serving you, and your clients and their pets.

Dr. Tom Johnson
Director of Hospital Operations, LVMC
