Food animal clients include cattle, sheep, goats and swine and are treated on-site in the Large Animal Clinic or on farm. Most frequently, clients bring their livestock to the theriogenology specialists for bull breeding soundness exams, treatment of bull breeding injuries, cattle pregnancy determination, high risk pregnancy management, small ruminant laparoscopic artificial insemination and embryo transfer. Additionally, we offer cattle embryo recovery and transfer or cryopreservation using conventional and IVF technology.<\/p>\n<p>Some procedures are conducted on an out-patient basis, while other procedures require a clinic stay of a few days or longer if needed. Ultrasound capabilities, semen collection, semen cryopreservation and advanced diagnostics are readily available, as is general anesthesia for use in some procedures. Treatment rooms and surgical suites are equipped to accommodate the smallest ruminant to the largest bulls.<\/p>\n<h2>How To Access Our Services<\/h2>\n<p>We encourage a close working relationship with referring veterinarians and our specialists, but clients can contact our team directly for services. Animal owners or their DVMs should call the Large Animal Hospital\u00a0for initial consultation and to make a specific appointment.<\/p>\n<p>Call 515-294-1500 and ask to speak with our specialists. The hospital schedules appointments on weekdays, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.<\/p>\n<p>For emergency calls, call 515-294-4900 to reach on-call hospital staff.<\/p>\n<\/div>\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div
