This study will reveal whether the absorption, metabolism, and clearance of oral spironolactone are altered in dogs with CHF, and findings of this study will offer recommendations for clinicians to enhance medication dosing strategies and improve treatment efficacy in dogs with CHF.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<h3>Eligibility<\/h3>\n<p>This study will enroll client-owned dogs diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF).<\/p>\n<h3>Procedures<\/h3>\n<p>During the study, you may expect the following procedures:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Comprehensive review of medication history (including spironolactone dosing and administration timing), assessment of<br \/>\nclinical signs, blood collection and a physical examination.<\/li>\n<li>Echocardiography and point of care ultrasound (POCUS) will also be performed to evaluate the severity of heart disease and measures of venous congestion.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h3>Costs and Compensation<\/h3>\n<p>There is no cost to you for your dog\u2019s participation in this study. All procedures related to the study will be covered.
