Purpose of Study<\/h3>\n
    \n
  1. Characterize oral spironolactone absorption, metabolism, and clearance in dogs diagnosed with CHF using a population pharmacokinetic (PK) approach compared to previously studied healthy dogs.<\/li>\n
  2. Correlate PK parameters with ultrasonographic measures of venous congestion from heart disease. This study will reveal whether the absorption, metabolism, and clearance of oral spironolactone are altered in dogs with CHF, and findings of this study will offer recommendations for clinicians to enhance medication dosing strategies and improve treatment efficacy in dogs with CHF.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Eligibility<\/h3>\n

    This study will enroll client-owned dogs diagnosed with congestive heart failure (CHF).<\/p>\n
