Bacterial isolation and identification - Swabs
3 - 7 days
Porcine nasal swabs are only effective for culturing Pasteurella and Bordetella. Nasal swabs are an unacceptable sample type for culturing other porcine respiratory pathogens. Fee is per swab. For samples with inherently high level of background flora (e.g., fecal samples of any species, swine nasal/oral fluid samples), ISU VDL Bacteriology Section does not pool samples. Such types of samples are set up individually, reported individually, and charged individually.
