Iowa Veterinary Specialties is a satellite emergency and specialty hospital in Des Moines, affiliated with Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine.
Des Moines’ premier 24/7 emergency and specialty hospital, Iowa Veterinary Specialties provides service in cooperation with Iowa State’s Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center with additional educational experiences for all ISU veterinary students.
Iowa Veterinary Specialties has a CT scanner, digital arthroscopy equipment, electrochemotherapy unit and TPLO and external fixator packs.
Iowa State 4th year veterinary students can participate in preceptorship programs including a surgical mentorship, oncology service, internal medicine and an eight-week summer IVS/ISU Mentorship Program.
