Expertise / Research Area

Dr. Andreasen's scientific expertise and experience are in the areas of comparative clinical pathology, with primary research emphasis in granulocyte function and use of immunomodulators during bacterial diseases; pathogenic mechanisms of host cellular interactions and infectious agents, including endothelial, platelet, and coagulation thromboembolic disease or coagulopathies, specifically the effects of shiga toxin and leptospirosis, and D-Dimer assay correlation for thromboembolic disease. Current research is in poultry and response and immunomodulation to Salmonella enteritidis and fish cell function with immunomodulators. Additional involvement has been with international student programs, educational and diagnostic learning, and teaching methods.
