The College of Veterinary Medicine has announced its 2018 college awards for faculty, staff and graduate students.
Recipients included:
- Award for Early Career Achievement in Research – Dr. Daniel Linhares, assistant professor of veterinary diagnostic and production animal medicine
- Award for Mid-Career Achievement in Research – Dr. Iddo Friedberg, associate professor of veterinary microbiology and preventive medicine
- Award for Early Achievement in Teaching – Dr. Jessica Ward, assistant professor of veterinary clinical sciences
- Award for Outstanding Achievement in Teaching – Dr. Thimmasettappa Thippeswamy, professor of biomedical sciences
- International Service Award – Dr.Wilson Rumbeiha, professor of veterinary diagnostic and production animal medicine
- Early Achievement in Extension or Professional Practice – Dr. Yuko Sato, assistant professor of veterinary diagnostic and production animal medicine
- P&S Staff Excellence Award – Jennifer Holdredge, program coordinator, Veterinary Diagnostic Laboratory
- P&S Outstanding New Professional – Deanna Gerber, student recruitment coordinator
- Frederick Douglass Patterson Diversity and Inclusion Award – Dr. Monica Howard, director of student programs
- Merit Employee of the Year – Sandy Popelka, secretary, Veterinary Clinical Sciences
- Resident/Intern of the Year – Dr. Kayode Garraway, Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center
- Graduate Student/Post Doc of the Year – Dr. Joseph Smith, Veterinary Diagnostic and Production Animal Medicine
- Service Team of the Year – Equine Ambulatory Team, Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center
