Assistant Professor, Biomedical Sciences
Teaches courses in anatomy for VM1 students and BMS one-year master’s students
Education
BS, Kinesiology, Iowa State University
PhD, Biomedical Sciences, Iowa State University
Past Experience
As a graduate student, Dr. Lambert was a Post-Baccalareate Fellow at the U.S. Department of Agriculture in Ames where she investigated prion diseases.
Prior to coming to the College of Veterinary Medicine, Lambert was an assistant professor of anatomy at Des Moines University.
Research
Lambert’s research looks to support and improve student learning in anatomy education, aiming to identify strategies that build stronger foundations for future veterinarians. This work will connect innovative teaching practices with broader impacts in veterinary medical education. Her project is complemented by collaborations investigating anatomical variation, comparative neuroanatomy, neurodegeneration and forensics.
Dr. Lambert says…
“I am fascinated by the intersection of structures and function within an organism, and I especially enjoy comparing these structures and functions across species. This fascination is something I hope to foster in future veterinarians, as anatomy is a fundamental language to be shared by all practitioners.”
