Past Experience
Following graduation, Dr. Cuneo worked for five years as an associate veterinarian in a mixed animal private practice in Maricopa, Ariz., before completing a Large Internal Medicine (livestock) residency at the University of California-Davis. Prior to coming to Iowa State, Cr. Cuneo was a staff veterinarian at the University of California-Davis Livestock Medicine and Surgery Service.

Specialty Areas
A Diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine (Large Animal), Dr. Cuneo has interest areas in neonatal intensive care, fluid therapy, and surgery. She is the current Service Leader for the Food Animal Medicine and Surgery Service.

Interesting Fact
Dr. Cuneo grew up on a small ranch in Oregon where her family raised beef cattle and Boer goats as well as sheep, horses, llamas, chickens and the occasional pig.

Dr. Cuneo says…
“I love solving complex problems and helping to further the knowledge of livestock internal medicine. My passion is livestock medicine not just because I love the animals themselves, but I really enjoy working with the producers and owners to help improve the health of production animals in the state.”
