Dr. David Wong, professor of veterinary clinical sciences, has been reappointed to second five-year term as chair of the Department of Veterinary Clinical Sciences in the College of Veterinary Medicine.
Since 2020, Wong has provided strong leadership to the department, expanding the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center’s workforce, making key facility improvements and developing innovative departmental programs. His dedication and accomplishments were recently recognized with the awarding of the 2025 Iowa State Award for Achievement in Departmental Leadership.
He has also developed innovative programs to advance the careers of new departmental faculty including a mentorship program that pairs early and mid-to-late career faculty together for discussions on professional development and faculty success.
During his initial term, Dr. Wong also served the college as the interim director of the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center.
