The Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center in Iowa State University’s College of Veterinary Medicine has been reverified by the Veterinary Committee on Trauma as a Level II Veterinary Trauma Center (VTC).
Level II VTCs are acute care facilities with the commitment, resources, and skilled personnel necessary to provide sophisticated medical and surgical, emergent, and critical care for critically ill or injured animals.
Level II VTCs, including the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center, are open to receive trauma patients and other emergencies 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.
The LVMC sees patients brought in for initial evaluation by their owners, as well as patients who are referred by other veterinarians with the goal of providing seamless veterinary care by working closely with local veterinarians to ensure that all patients get the best care possible before, during, and after hospitalization.
