Past Experience
After graduating with her DVM, Dr. Chi completed both a rotating internship and a small animal anesthesia residency in Taiwan before coming to Iowa State. From 2017-2020, she was in the anesthesia and analgesia residency program in the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center. Post-residency, Dr. Chi practiced as a private practice anesthesiologist in small animal specialty hospitals from 2020 to 2025.

A board-certified veterinary anesthesiologist, Dr. Chi is investigating post anesthesia cognitive dysfunction in geriatric dogs and cats.
Dr. Chi says…
“I enjoy the challenge of managing patients with complex medical histories and find it deeply rewarding to see them recover safely and smoothly from anesthesia. My interest in anesthesia-related cognitive dysfunction in canine and feline patients stems from the goal of strengthening post-procedural owner-pet bonds and alleviating client concerns regarding anesthesia for geriatric patients.”
