The Caceres lab is interested in investigating molecular factors modulating the pathogenesis and viral-host interactions of influenza and coronaviruses affecting humans and animals. To achieve this, we employ a combination of classical molecular virology techniques, reverse genetics, OMICS approaches, and various in vitro and in vivo models. Our research can contribute to developing novel diagnostic tools, antivirals (viral or host-targeted), and vaccines against various viral agents.
