Companion animal behavior including canine cognition, effective learning and training techniques, and factors affecting the human animal bond and attachment.

Behavior modification and rehabilitation of shelter dogs and factors that lead to placement of pets in a permanent home.

Practice management, niche development, and marketing. Worked as a general practitioner for 25 years prior to pursuing career in higher education
