After graduating from veterinary school, Dr. Mosallam worked for five years at one of the largest
dairy farms in Africa. There he gained extensive experience in dairy production and reproductive
management.

Research Focus & Interests

Dr. Mosallam is looking at improving reproductive efficiency and fertility through applied reproductive technologies. “I am interested in semen preservation and cryobiology, sperm physiology, oxidative stress, reproductive biotechnology, artificial insemination, embryo transfer and strategies to improve male and female fertility.” His graduate work investigated the effects of antioxidant supplementation, including Coenzyme Q10, on the quality and function of cryopreserved stallion and bull sperm. “More broadly, I am interested in understanding factors that affect gamete quality and fertility and translating those findings into practical strategies to improve reproductive outcomes.”
