Dr. Chad Brown, director of veterinary nursing programs and clinical associate professor of veterinary administration at Purdue University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, has been named executive director of the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center at Iowa State University.
A faculty member at Purdue since 2020, Brown is also a co-owner of K.D. Brown & Sons Beef Cattle Farms in West Virginia and was the president and founder of MT Global Ecommerce, LLC.
“Chad is a wonderful addition to our team,” said Dr. Dan Grooms, the Dr. Stephen G. Juelsgaard Dean of Veterinary Medicine. “He has a strong grasp of business management, financial oversight, and strategic planning – all skills that are invaluable for running a large veterinary hospital like the Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center.”
Brown earned his DVM degree from Purdue in 2001. After graduation he owned and operated a mixed animal practice as well as serving on the faculty at colleges in Ohio and West Virginia.
“I was initially drawn to this position by Iowa State’s deep agricultural roots and its strong support of the College of Veterinary Medicine,” Brown said. “I am excited to continue working toward the college’s dedication to both clinical excellence and academic innovation.”
The Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center includes both the Hixson-Lied Small Animal Hospital and the Large Animal Hospital. The two hospitals have an annual caseload that exceeds 25,000 cases.
