Federal Agency Resources
According to “CHIPS and Science Act of 2022”, it is required Covered individuals to complete Research Security Training (RST) prior to proposal submission, this RST requirement flow down to ISU’s subrecipients as well. DOE‘s effective date is May 1, 2025; NSF‘s effective date is October 10, 2025. However, DOD, HHS (PHS/NIH/etc.), NASA and USDA have not yet implemented their RST requirement.
This training can be met by completing a on-demand research security training course available in Workday Learn. Researchers need to complete one of the courses below.
- Research Security Training – Condensed: A one-hour training module
- Research Security Training – Extended: A deeper, four module (one-hour each) program for comprehensive coverage
NIH (National Institute of Health)
- NIH Application Guide (Starting Jan 25,2025, referring to SF424 (R&R)- Version I)
- Common Forms for Bioskech and Current and Pending (TBD)
- NIH is adopting the Biographical Sketch Common Form and the Current and Pending (Other) Support Common Form. Use SciENcv to complete Common Forms.
- Users can link their SciENcv accounts to their ORCID (Open Researcher and Contributor ID), NSF, or NIH eRA Commons accounts to populate with information on affiliations, grants, and publications.
