An uncertain prognosis for Daisy didn’t deter owners Nathan and Jessica Kraft from seeking radiation therapy at the Hixson-Lied Small Animal Hospital’s Oncology Section for the 11-year-old hound mix. Daisy’s response to her treatment has exceeded the Krafts’ expectations. “We weren’t ready for that,” Nathan said. “It had been so hard and so much time and effort to get to where we were when we heard the news. But the hard work of so many people and departments at Iowa State had paid off, and in a big way.”

Max’s Very Bad Day

Max had the misfortune to get stuck in his kennel’s fence on the hottest day of the year when his owners were away. The German Shepherd’s resulting heat stroke required a multi-day stay at the Hixson-Lied Small Animal Hospital before treatments aided his recovery.
