The ISU Canine Rehabilitation Center offers complementary therapy for patients who have orthopedic or neurologic injuries, as well as many other conditions. For example, rehabilitation can be used as an exercise program for the obese, arthritic, or geriatric patients. It can also be used as a conditioning therapy to help service animals such as police dogs or athletes get into top shape prior to competition.

When rehabilitation is used after orthopedic or neurologic injury, our focus at the LVMC is on returning your companion animal to function as quickly as possible. Our rehabilitation strategies include: Gait Analysis, Aqua Therapy, Land-Based Rehabilitation, Therapeutic Modalities and Acupuncture. Many times a combination of these activities are used to help improve your pet's condition.

The Canine Rehabilitation Service at the LVMC has an underwater treadmill, pool, land treadmill, therapeutic ultrasound, and neuromuscular electrical stimulation. We are equipped to provide a variety of therapeutic exercises using physio-rolls, cavaletti rails, stairs, sand and grass.
