Dr. Lloyd hasn’t limited his professional activities solely to his business. He also served more than a decade as a professor of veterinary pathology and toxicology and held a private veterinary practice for 15 years. Dr. Lloyd and his wife, Linda, have been strong and ongoing supporters of the College of Veterinary Medicine and the Dr. W. Eugene and Linda Lloyd Veterinary Medical Center is named in honor of their contribution to the college. In addition, the couple has generously provided named professorship positions in the college.
  • Lora and Russ Talbot – Honorary Alumni Award. While neither Lora nor Russ Talbot attended Iowa State, their passion for the school and its programs reflects their commitment to a university they have grown to love. Over the years, the Talbots have supported many different areas of the College of Veterinary Medicine including four-year student scholarships as well as graduate fellowships. Their support for the university has also extended to create a first-in-the-nation endowed alumni position for the ISU Alumni Association’s president and CEO.
  • Dr. William Hoefle – Order of the Knoll Faculty and Staff Award. Dr. Hoefle, professor of veterinary clinical sciences, (DVM ’66, MS ’74 veterinary clinical science) is a board-certified surgeon and has served in any number of significant leadership roles including past president of both the Iowa Veterinary Medical Association and the Veterinary Orthopedic Society. Throughout the years, support from Dr. Hoefle and his wife, Judith, has impacted many areas across campus, including athletics, the alumni association and the College of Veterinary Medicine.
