Steven received his BS in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Iowa State University. Steven oversees the Information Technology for the college. Areas of expertise and responsibilities include:

  • Manage day to day operations for IT
  • Oversight and support of IT for Academic Departments, hospital and students
  • Work with Associate Dean and College IT staff for College wide IT Strategic and Policy planning
  • Over site of web presence
  • Create and maintain IT budget; revenue acquisition
  • Order and approve standards for College IT equipment and software and support oversight
  • Work with vendors to negotiate hardware and software renewals
  • Committees: Mobile computer; CLIM; ITLC; Windows Administrators, Linux Administrators, SCCM, CCSG, College Web group, College IT managers, Academic IT
  • Communication between CVM and campus IT and Telecommunications and technology initiatives
  • Backup assistance for technology positions
  • Resource for faculty, staff, and students for IT questions
  • Provide technical assistance and implementation support for Web project

  • MAC and Casper expertise
  • Setting up and configuring new computing equipment and software;
  • System security checks, repairs and upgrades
  • Inventorying technology equipment and parts

Martin has degrees in English and Creative Writing from Iowa State University and over 18 years of experience in IT at ISU, including CALS, LAS, and ITS. Areas of expertise and responsibilities include:

  • Lead for student learning IT infrastructure
  • Student education IT initiatives and planning and student laptop support
  • Oversight of the IT help desk
  • Installing, supporting and troubleshooting computer hardware and software
  • Knowledge of FERPA compliant platforms
  • MAC and Casper expertise

Mark Slagell

Mark has an MS in Computer Science and RHCSA, RHCE. Areas of expertise are:

  • Programming, especially in the area of electronic medical laboratory and hospital information systems
  • CVIS/VetStar/VADDS expertise
  • Creating web-based platforms and applications for hospital and laboratory information systems
  • Integration of imaging, diagnostic results, reports and billing into electronic medical records
